Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer at The Kibera School for Girls

We are always in need of both short and long term volunteers. We are looking for people with specific skills and knowledge to teach classes for a period of time (a month or more) or to lead focused workshops (over a shorter time period).  While we are looking for people with any skill or specialty to share with our students we are especially interested in having special workshops/classes to supplement the curriculum on journalism, health, the arts, sustainable agricultural practices, environmental issues, and global women’s issues (but we are open to any suggestions!)  We are also looking for teachers, librarians, and education specialists to offer workshops for our teachers, principles, and librarian, or to volunteer to teach at the school for a period of time.  There is also a need for doctors who are willing to do short-term clinics for students and families.  We are also looking for people to set up sports teams and other extracurricular activities for students.  Finally, we are looking for people with skills in sustainable gardening and agriculture to donate their time and expertise.  These are all just some ideas, we are also looking for others who have a dream for our school and who are interested in working with us to impact the lives of our students and the Kibera community.
